Since I belong to so many group chats, I often post links and stories that move me, that infuriate me and that inspire me. I often struggle to find those links again so I thought I could do a round-up of everything I read in a week.
The FBI Just Busted the King of Revenge Porn – I don’t often share news articles on Facebook. I have conflicted feelings about Facebook that aren’t necessary to get into here. But three years ago, I shared this article. What a monster this guy was. A woman should be allowed to do what she wants without fear that some creep will hack into her email to get these pictures.
Unlinguisme de Trudeau: le Commissaire aux langues officielles enquête- R is the one who shared this in our group chat. We had a long discussion about the language requirements of the Prime Minister. I see no problem in the Prime Minister answering a question in French WHEN IN QUEBEC just as he answers questions in English in Ontario. His ability to answer questions completely in both languages is quite impressive and a change from previous Prime Ministers.
Warren Buffett’s Family Secretly Funded a Birth Control Revolution – I am an avid supporter of IUD’s. I think they were the best form of birth control. My mother though, did not think it was a good idea and that it would lead to infertility and problems down the road. And with the current government in the United States limiting access to health care for women, the IUD has become an important medical device. I hope the foundation’s work continues and allows more women to access this.
We broke the Panama Papers story. Here’s how to investigate Donald Trump – I love the Guardian. And I love this call to action. Maybe the only good thing about Donald Trump is how he has pushed the left and activists and the Democrats to organize, assemble and fight back.
